Abstract

In this article we take a fresh look at the radiocarbon results fromKuntillet 'Ajrud. We maintain that they can provide a reasonablyaccurate date for both the construction and abandonment of the site.The 14C determinations seem to indicate that the site was builtbetween 820 and 795 BCE and was abandoned after 745 BCE. Historicalconsideration discussed in the article may narrow this time-span toca. 795-730/720 BCE.
